This is a more recent controversy. In fact, its not so much as a controversy as it is an annoyance. When the Xbox One and the PS4 were released, the main focus of these two systems were on their graphics and performances.

Many publications such as IGN, Gamespot, and many independent gaming channels on Youtube have countless discussions on the two consoles’ graphics, resolution, and framerate. In fact, these places have numerous videos themselves solely dedicated to this topic, which have led many people to believe that graphics are all that people care about.

However, it goes deeper than that. Many early games in the consoles’ life cycle ran and looked better on the PS4 than the Xbox One due to Microsoft not putting in a more powerful GPU. Therefore, this has led to a new wave of attacks in the console war from fanboys on each side attacking each other on graphics.
