With a growing sense of urgency around the office, the Imagine Careers team continued to develop a plan for the future of the company. In this report, a brief overview of the company will be discussed, as well as an analysis of revenue streams and the technology that supports that revenue.

Imagine Careers is a tech startup located in the growing community of Uptown.  Over the past month, we have been settling into our new space in the Paramount Film Exchange building, which has helped increase productivity and boost the workplace morale.  Imagine Careers is a team of hardworking individuals, focused on creating relationships that will benefit job seekers.  We are taking a more personalized approach to finding you a job – we realize that you are not just summed up by points on your resume; there is much more that you have to offer outside a few buzzwords in your previous experience.  To solve this problem, we have a group of talent agents that works to get to know where you will fit in who will then reach out to the network they have established through the Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Cincinnati areas.

Imagine Careers is currently working to build a more sustainable business model, which can be broken down into three main segments, each bringing their own stream of revenue.

Agency Services

Agency services currently account for 80% of our revenue. With connections with agencies, our services are being used to place current job seekers as part of an agency. We have been working with Sandler Training, a local business development service provider, to push talent in their direction.

To find a stream of revenue in our agency services, we can focus mainly on placement of talent. Our placement up until now has been contingent, meaning it is dependent on other job openings. Establishing a relationship with an agency can bring in a flexible payment model, giving Imagine Careers a fluctuating revenue stream.

Our team of tech developers is working to improve our JSR, or Job Smart Recruiter. This name is in the process of changing. Some improvements to this system will include an automated system, analytics tracking, efficiencies, and aggregation. The agency services will be a subscription-based model.

“Everyman” Services

Our current “Everyman” Services account for 0% of our revenue…and that’s not okay.  We are working to establish this system to bring in at least 75% of our revenue in this way.

This segment will focus on a tiered SaaS platform, or Software as a Service.  The platform will feature toolsets, assessments and training, and searchable information. This segment differs from the agency services, offering individual packages – which could be one-offs or recurring.

The same technology that applies to our Agency Services will apply to this segment, with revised tiering and costs.

Interface (Institutional)

We are looking to use the interface for 5% of our revenue.  A lot of the services we offer for agencies and individuals are applicable to a large institution.

Imagine Careers wants to focus on bench management (name subject to change), which generates a roster for freelance and side projects.  It will appeal to those who are happy where they are with their jobs, but are still looking to use their skills for more. This segment will also focus on outplacing, consulting, and data plays.

We are working to develop sandboxing and licensing for current institutions, which will aggregate talent into one pool to be chosen from.  The interface will also be great for reporting, tracking analytics, and sharing content.

Overall, establishing these business segments will help us start the new year with a good pace. Our plans for January include rolling out a new and improved site, as well as making substantial progress on our JSR.
