LOCAL MAN COLLECTS FOOD DONATIONS FOR PERSONAL CHARITY MISSION

It’s 12:30 on a Sunday afternoon. As the masses of church-goers flood the parking lot of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, Don Langston walks to his car, of which the backseat is visibly filled with cardboard boxes and plastic bags.

As he opens the door, the distinct smell of fresh baked bread encircles him. Making room for his wife, Joyce, in the passenger seat amidst the cargo of food, the Langston couple makes their way down West Liberty Avenue toward their Mt. Lebanon home.

The Interfaith Hospitality Network hosts homeless families in local churches each week. Providing food, a place to sleep and transportation, volunteers at the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church set up for the weeks inhabitants.
